The light showing that the power is working, comes on and them immediately goes off. I'm never sure that it is actually working.
The bait is gone and no dead vermin. I'm thinking of returning it and going back to bait.

Conventional rat traps worked for a while. Then the rats got wise.
I was leery of spending $40 on this contraption, but our local Ace hardware store is great about accepting returns. "Bring it back if it doesn't work," they said.
I tried it first in the attic. Worked within 24 hours.
Then I tried it in a store room, where I had just spotted a rat. Within 3-5 minutes of setting the trap (with a couple of in-the-shell peanuts), I heard a bzzzt. I thought it was malfunctioning. Surely if I had spotted the rat, it had also spotted me and would be on guard. But no, there it was.
I disposed of that rat, re-set with a fresh couple of peanuts, and left the room. Again, within just a few minutes, it went bzzzt again. And there was another rat.
It seemed that I could continue the process indefinitely had there been more rats, but I think two was it for that room. That night.
Meanwhile, the trap is ready without endangering my or my family's feet should we forget to step carefully.
Well worth the price!
